Our favourite bar/restaurant for an after surf meal and/or drink.
Right in the center of town, this is the place where everyone comes to hang out.
You can find an amazing selection of delicious pastas, meat baguettes or salads.

A Sereia
THE fish reataurant in Sagres.
A Sereia is a family run restaurant at the harbour of Sagres.
Located right on top of the fish auction, here you get the freshest fish in town as it leaves the boat straight to the grill.
Open on weekdays for lunch only.
Best come early to make sure you get a table!

Three Little Birds
A great family restaurant with great home made burgers, smoked meats, nachos, and craft drinks.
On the way to the center of town, this is a very popular choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Laundry Lounge
Another great place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner and do your laundry!
A very calm and relaxed atmosphere, serving sushi, poke bowls, amazing sandwiches and ceviche.
They also serve great homemade drinks and cocktails.

Landmarks
Sagres Fortress
The Sagres Fortress is the town’s most iconic site, perched on a narrow headland with steep cliffs on three sides. Built in the 15th century, it is historically linked to Prince Henry the Navigator and the Age of Discovery.

Cape St Vincent Lighthouse
Cabo de São Vicente is a dramatic headland that serves as the southwesternmost point of mainland Europe. Often referred to as “The End of the World” by medieval Europeans, it is a place of raw natural beauty where towering 60-meter cliffs drop vertically into the Atlantic Ocean.

Beleeira Harbour
Porto de Pesca da Baleeira is the functional heart of Sagres, serving as an active fishing harbour that offers a more industrial but authentic side of the town. It is a great place to witness the local maritime economy in action, away from the typical tourist paths.

Shops / Supermarkets
Maretta Shop
A local surf shop where you can buy clothing and accessories, souvenirs, rent bicycles & scooters. They run the Sagres Surf School who we work with to provide you surf lessons.

Santo Loco
Santo Loco is a surf lifestyle and surf shop situated close to the Tonel beach. It captures the local surf culture with a modern, welcoming atmosphere.
They provide all kinds of surf equipment, surf apparel and feature a nice coffee bar to have enjoy coffee or drink at their sunny terrace.

Lidl
The main supermarket in the area if you are looking to buy good quality fresh products at the best price.
It’s in Vila do Bispo, the next town, but it’s worth de 10 minute drive if you want to make a bigger shopping.

Intermarché
Intermarché is the local supermarket, it’s prices are a bit higher than Lidl, but if you need to grab anything without leaving town, this is the place to go.
They provide washing machines for your laundry and a self-service buffet for lunch if you’re looking to grab a quick and inexpensive meal.

Beaches & Surf Spots
Mareta
The beach in the center of town. It’s the perfect beach to just go and sunbathe and spend some time with friends.
It’s slightly protected from the North wind and it has 2 restaurants.
Surf here happens when there is swell from South/SouthWest or in the winter period when the swells from West/NorthWest get closer to 3m.
It gets quite crowded when there are waves as it is a very easily accessible beach.w

Tonel
On the other side of the fortress, across from Mareta beach lies Tonel Beach.
This is the beach that receives the most swell in town so there are always waves.
Current can get pretty stront so be careful when heading into the water.
Good surf when swells come from NorthWest to SouthWest, up to 2 meters.

Beliche
The most sheltered beach in town.
It’s protected from the North wind by the tall cliffs, but it does come with the price of going down (and up) a long flight of stairs to get to it.
It’s a very consistent surf beach in the winter when West/NorthWest swells of 2.5 meters and over bless our coastline.
It’s a challenging fast wave, so not so beginner-friendly.

Martinhal
Our longest beach in town. It’s very exposed to the North wind.
It’s located next to a resort with the same name, good for beach walks or sunbathing.
Very popular for windsurfing due to it’s exposure to the wind and usually flat sea.
Surf is not very consistent as it only works when there’s a big South swell or even bigger West/NorthWest swell in the winter.

Praia do Telheiro
The first beach on the west coast.
This is one of the many wild beaches on the Natural Park that surrounds Sagres.
The acces down to the beach is not very easy as you need to climb down some rocks, but if you’re up to an adventure and having a practically empty beach where the masses don’t go to this is the beach for you.
Surf can be good with a 1 to 1.5 meter swell size from West to North West.

Praia da Ponta Ruiva
A little bit further after Telheiro comes Ponta Ruiva, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. This wild beach is of a easier access by foot but your car will for sure suffer a little bit while getting there.
Surf is one of the best as it has a long left-hand point break as well as many peaks on the beach break.
